Go biodegradable with water-based coating
As standard to keep the cups liquid proof, paper cups contain thin (PE)-plastic layer inside the cup. This type of coating is the cheapest and perfect for every beverage, including alcohol.
At Limepack we’re committed to offering the most eco-friendly products. That’s why we offer a Bio option as alternative. Here the inside coating layer is replaced by a water-based coating made from latex and minerals.
This feature has a significant upside on the environmental impact from the cups, as they now can be certified AA-recyclable, biodegradable and compostable. Plus, since no oil is used in production, their environmental footprint is significantly smaller, making these cups the most environmentally friendly option available!
When you choose Bio water-based coating, the cups will have a 'PAP 21' mark on the bottom for proper sorting and recycling, aiding differentiation at waste facilities. Make sure to check if local facilities accept such cups. Some places might reject recyclable cups, favoring traditional disposal methods. Full documentation can be read here.
