As a plus, our plastic cups are printed using pad printing, which ensures a sharp, high-quality print! Pad printing is typically used for printing on curved surfaces that are difficult to print on, and because it’s done manually, it’s most often used for smaller quantities. This is also why we offer our plastic cups from only 1.000 pieces.
Mandatory labelling on plastic cups in EU countries
The Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) requires all disposable packaging made of plastic sold on the EU market to be marked with a label indicating that it contains plastic. The goal of this is to reduce the amount of plastic waste in the environment and to make people aware of how harmful plastic can be if not disposed of properly.
That's why our plastic cups are labelled “made of plastic”. They are embossed by default with languages such as French, German, Spanish and Danish, but not all languages are available. Languages that cannot be embossed need to be printed on the back of the cup in either white or black, and this can result in a slightly higher price than if it was embossed as standard.
Since the UK is not a member of the EU, single-use packaging doesn’t need to be labelled. However, please note that our plastic cups by default are embossed with the label in English.
100% recyclable plastic cups
Our plastic cups are produced with 50% rPET and are fully recyclable. This means that instead of ending up as waste in landfills, they can be recycled and made into something new. Plus, the plastic cups are made with less plastic, so less energy is required during the production of them. Although the reduced amount of plastic results in the cups being slightly thinner and lighter than an average plastic cup, they’re still super sturdy and can hold any cold drink you serve in them.
